Weaver, Bennett & Bland in the Community

One of the core values of Weaver, Bennett & Bland, P.A., is “Commitment to Community.”  We are proud to serve Matthews, Eastern Mecklenburg County and Western Union County.  Over the 35 years of existence, the law firm and its’ individual members have proven over and over again the commitment to the area and people that support our firm.

We are members of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce, the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce and the Union County Chamber of Commerce.  Numerous members of the firm have served on the Board of Directors of the Matthews Chamber, including Chuck Bennett (ret.2106), William Whitaker and Eran Weaver.  Chuck served as president of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce.

M. David Bland served for many years (1982-1990) on the Matthews Town Council and helped make the town an exciting, fun and safe place to live and work.

WB&B’s attorneys have been and continue to be members of local service organizations.  Eran Weaver is in the Kiwanis Club of Matthews and is serving as the president of the Kiwanis Club of Matthews Foundation, Inc.  Chuck Bennett served as president of the Matthews Rotary Club and was a long time member.  Emily Curcio has been invited to join the Matthews Rotary Club and will be inducted in the near future.  William Whittaker is a member of the Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club, serving as President in 2007-2008.  Crystal Welton is a member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Aging Coalition.

Chuck Bennett served on the Board of Directors of the Levine Senior Center.  William Whittaker has just commenced his first term on the board, attending his first meeting in late February.

For many years, our law firm sponsored and still sponsors the Terrific Kid Program at Matthews Elementary School and sponsored many MARA soccer and baseball teams.  You can still see the younger brothers and sisters of team members wearing the jerseys and tops with Weaver, Bennett & Bland across the chest.

For many years the firm sponsored an art show in November that benefitted local charities including initial and long-term beneficiary, the Matthews Help Center and Blessed Assurance Adult Day and Health Care.

Weaver, Bennett & Bland has helped by contributing monies or our time to numerous local non-profit golf tournaments, Artfest of Matthews, to the Matthews branch of the Mecklenburg County Public Library, and helped the Matthews Police Department purchase a defibrillator.  For many years we also helped sponsor the D.A.R.E program through the Matthews Police Department.
